CT REALTY INVESTORS, ICON HEALTH & FITNESS CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF WESTERN UNITED STATES DISTRIBUTION FACILITY

CT Realty Investors and ICON Health & Fitness (www.iconfitness.com) held a ribbon-cutting and pancake breakfast last week to celebrate the completion of ICON’s new distribution building in Beaumont, Calif. Located at 630 Nicholas Rd., the 600,000-square-foot facility is the largest building ever to be constructed in the Beaumont/Banning area.

The new building was built specifically to serve as the western United States distribution facility for ICON, which owns NordicTrack, Pro-Form, Weider, HealthRider and other major fitness brands. Headquartered in Logan, Utah, ICON also operates a 600,000-square-foot distribution building in Savannah, Ga. Originally scheduled for an October completion, the building was completed ahead of time and ICON moved in last month. The company will begin distribution services later this month.

Following the pancake breakfast, CT Realty Investors CEO and President Watty Watson provided an overview of the new facility at the event and presented plaques to ICON and the City of Beaumont. Watson also introduced Beaumont Mayor Roger Berg, as well as several city council members and other special guests. Also on hand were ICON employees and CT Realty board members and staff.

ICON Health & Fitness Executive Vice President of Manufacturing Jay Kirkham welcomed the guests and introduced key ICON employees. Noting that the Beaumont location will employ 140 people, Kirkham said, “We are extremely pleased with the new distribution facility in Beaumont, and are happy to expand our operations and employee base here in the Inland Empire.”

“We’d like to thank the City of Beaumont and the CT Realty team for their hard work and commitment to developing and building this property ahead of schedule. Because of their joint effort, we can begin operations earlier than anticipated.”

The formal program ended with the ribbon-cutting and a business card drawing for a new Pro- Form Le Tour de France training bike.

The new ICON building is situated on 30.18 acres owned by CT Realty and sits adjacent to two other buildings owned by CT Realty totaling 572,143 square feet on 26.32 acres. Together with the ICON building, the entire CT Realty project totals 1,172,143 square feet on 56.5 acres.

Late last year, CT Realty and ICON executed an eight-year lease for the property in a transaction valued at more than $16 million. KPRS Construction Services Inc. of Brea, Calif., which built the first two buildings for CT Realty, also served as general contractor for the ICON building with Bank of America providing the construction financing.
